One of our major areas of expertise is replacing existing installations. These are assignments where we manage the entire process from start to finish. We approached the renewal of a thermal degasser as follows:

Determining required equipment: Detailed analyzes and drawing up data sheets and an equipment list.

• P&ID layout: Fully tailored to the customer’s standardization.
• Procurement: Collaboration with the customer for the purchase of equipment, valves, fittings and instruments.
• Stability study: Coordination of the study of existing steel structures and adjustment of penetrations based on the results.
• Organization of lifting works: Efficient planning and execution of lifting works for new equipment.
• Piping prefabrication: Precise coordination with the contractor.
• Functional operation and consultation: Preparation of the functional loop description for programming by the DCS programmer for optimal functionality.
• E&I adjustments: Preparing and developing necessary adjustments in consultation with the customer’s E&I department.
• Assembly and changeover: Prepare and carry out during hot standstill, with successful commissioning of the new degasser at the end of the warm standstill.
• Commissioning: Close follow-up and adjustment together with the customer’s E&I engineer.
• Results: Lower dosing product consumption due to larger capacity and adjusted heating strategy of the degasser.
